With the needs of a young family at heart, Tuart House is designed to withstand the rough and tumble of daily life with small kids and big dogs. It is also a reflection of its occupants and a marriage of the owners’ opposing styles: simply put, one who sees the beauty in antiques and the other, its imperfections. The owners had been contemplating moving house but ultimately decided to stay, engaging Fauvist Design to breathe new life into the interiors and convert the under-utilised back area into a functional space fit for entertaining. With the brief for the design aesthetic being “warm neutral Australiana” this project is an ode to natural fibres, texture, Australian flora and colours inspired by our beautiful landscape.
